Tucson, Arizona – Today, Daniel Hernandez, a Democratic candidate for AZ-07, released a new ad. The ad will run on broadcast in Tucson and Yuma and digital channels district-wide.
“Eyes Wide Open” shares Daniel’s personal story on why he entered politics. Growing up his family relied on public assistance to make ends meet and access to health care through Medicaid saved his life. After surviving a mass shooting in 2011, Daniel dedicated his life to stopping gun violence and fighting for the rights of southern Arizona.

[Daniel Hernandez]: I’m the son of a construction worker and a Mexican immigrant.
Public schools gave me a shot and when I was sick it was Medicaid that helped save my life.
And in 2011, when I survived a mass shooting, it opened my eyes.
Now I’m running for Congress to fight back against Donald Trump’s attacks.
Today our eyes are open, but tomorrow we’ll fight like hell.
