Tucson, Arizona – Today, Daniel Hernandez earned the endorsement of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.
Hernandez is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives and former President of the Sunnyside School Board. As a member of the Arizona State House, he was a strong advocate for working people and union members and is a proud card-carrying member of the American Federation of Teachers Local 8002.
In Congress, Hernandez will support ending “right to work” laws and work to pass the bipartisan PRO Act, which aims to strengthen labor protections. He will also fight Trump’s pause on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s ability to rule make, which assures workers have certain safety requirements in extreme heat and other unsafe conditions.
International Union of Painters and Allied Trades released the following statement:
“The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades proudly endorses Daniel Hernandez for Congress. Daniel has demonstrated unwavering support for labor rights, advocating for fair wages, and safe working conditions. His track record reflects a commitment to the principles that matter most to our members. We are confident that Daniel will be a steadfast ally for working families in Washington.”
