Tucson, Arizona – Today, Daniel Hernandez earned the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 104.
Hernandez is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives and former President of the Sunnyside School Board. As a member of the Arizona State House, he was a strong advocate for working people and union members and is a proud card-carrying member of the American Federation of Teachers Local 8002.
In Congress, Hernandez will support ending “right to work” laws and work to pass the bipartisan PRO Act, which aims to strengthen labor protections. He will also fight Trump’s pause on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s ability to rule make, which assures workers have certain safety requirements in extreme heat and other unsafe conditions.
Karla Schumann, Secretary Treasurer Teamsters Local 104, released the following statement:
“The Teamsters are proud to stand with Daniel Hernandez. As a union member himself, he understands the power of organized labor. He’s a proven champion for workers’ rights, fair wages, and the dignity of a union job. Whether walking picket lines with the Teamster Miners or UPS just practicing lines, Daniel has stood with the Teamsters to elevate their causes. Daniel will take this fight to DC when elected, and we will stand with him as he fights for all Arizonans.”
